Review by Rolfe Hedges
One aspect of the war rarely covered is the structure of units used in the war and where they saw action. This has now been largely helped by the release of the Nafziger collection which is a collection of some 200 various army lists, orders of battle, and equipment inventories - taken from various sources (largely from the works of R Larrazabal) although some is original. Most of the lists are excellent e g.; republican forces Madrid 23.11.36, nationalist forces in assault on Porcuna 13/12/36, nationalist assault on Alhama 21/1 37, nationalist assault on Penarroya coalfields 6/10/36, the militia battalions Oct 36 (a highly recommended list; some verg interesting info) and others. The only drawback is the quality - being printed on poor paper using a dot matrix printer. The cost is 20p per page, minimum order is £ 3.00, full catalogue price is 30p.
