Here we have a great collection of deep and very well documented "special" issues published by "DEFENSA" magazine (Defence Ministry) full of information on political, millitary and anecdotes of the war in Euzkadi (Basque Country), from the uprising of the leftist Unions on July. 19th 1936, and the late coup made by the rebel nationalist army on the 21st ( a late arrival at the "Alzamiento") through a detailed description on the different, units involved in the campaign: Basque nationalist, Popular Front parties, UGT and CNT unions, etc, and the Falangist and Requetes aside the army on the other.

The birth of the Basque Army. The events of November 36 ( a version of the Barcelona May 37 events without G. Orwell to denounce them) between the nationalist basques and the libertarians. the role of the nationalist basque church in the war, and the full list of priests shot by Franco troops. The Carlism and the Requetes against the nationalist basques: a civil war inside the civil war.

The nationalist Basque surrender and how a full Army Corps with its weapons were into Franco's hands. The Italians in Euzkadi, and their agreements with the basque Government. The Nazi Basque approach during and after the war (in spite of Guernica). The Basques during the WWII, both in the French Resistence and in the Free France Army. The collaborationist, and many more. A must if you want to understand anything of the SCW. Unfortunately it is only in Spanish, but even if you're only interested on "pictures", the magazines are full of never seen photographs, with lots of AFV's , military units uniforms and weapons, and copy of original documents. Some colour drawings. There are 13 different volumes at an incredible price of 750 pts each (you may order directly fron the Publisher) and a 14th on the war at the sea in the North Front (Cantabrico area).
