August 14, 1757

Translated and Edited With Additional Materials By Neil Cogswell

The advance posts report that the King of Prussia has sent two regiments to Przibus to secure the bridge there over the Neisse.

Here is the position of the Austrian advanced posts in order. General Beck commands that of the right, between Lobau and Gorlitz. General Morocz commands an Hussar Regiment and a battalion of Croats at Lobau. General Hadik has a similar corps under his orders at Postwitz. Near Stolpen are the Hussar Regiment Kalnoky, 3 squadrons of Regiment Kaiser and 3 battalions of Croats; these are commanded by Lieutenant-General Kalnoky, whose quarters are at Neustadt. On the left, General Schroger commands the Hussar Regiment Nádasdy and 3 battalions of Croats. General Nádasdy, who had left Rumburg with all his Corps in order to move towards Gorlitz along the far side of the Neisse, has today encamped in front of Zittau. His right rests on that town and his left is on the height where the Prince of Prussia formerly rested his right.
