As well as the picquets that were posted yesterday to prevent desertion, a new chain has been made along the front of the camp with two battalions of Croats. Those troops have the order to fire upon any deserters whom they cannot stop. They have already brought in ten, seven grenadiers and three fusiliers; they will be executed tomorrow. As I have already mentioned, a corps of regular troops under the orders of Graf Cajetan von Kolowrat has entered Silesia. This corps is composed of the Regiments Clerici and Luzan, together with another regiment; these troops had been marching from Moravia to join the Main Army. Marshal Keith has made a forward movement which seemed to suggest that he wished to join the King of Prussia, but we subsequently heard that it was simply a change of position. He is now encamped half a league on this side of Bischofswerda. Her Majesty the Empress Queen has directed that each Regiment of Infantry, Cavalry and Dragoons should have its establishment increased by 4 Captain-Lieutenants. These officers are to undertake their duties in the companies of the Colonels and Majors. This extensive augmentation, and the resulting promotions, has procured the advancement of nearly all the cadets and volunteers, of whom there are a great number - especially amongst the Walloon regiments.
