International Napoleonic Society. Fourth International Napoleonic Congress.
The International Napoleonic Society is pleased to announce that it will hold its Fourth International Napoleonic Congress in the beautiful coastal city of Dinard, France. During the summer of 2005, Dinard will host a number of major Napoleonic celebrations, and the INS is proud to be part of what is likely to be the largest celebration of Austerlitz in France. Other events include a major exhibition, a massive parade and a spectacular fireworks display. Most papers should concentrate on the general theme of the battle and its causes and consequences as well as the political, social, economic, military and other aspects of life in 1805. Other papers and themes will be given full consideration and we encourage you to submit any proposal. Special attention will be given to new research on any Napoleonic topic. Papers should be no more than 25 pages double-spaced, and presentations are limited to 30 minutes. Please submit a printed version of your paper as well as on a CD or Disk using Microsoft WORD or another major word processing program. Please also include a one page summary of your paper, a résumé and complete contact information (name, address, phone, email, fax). The official languages of the conference will be English and French, and simultaneous translation for these languages will be available. The host hotel will be the fabulous Grand Hôtel Barrière and participants will be able to select from several other hotels as well. Hotel arrangements will be made directly by each participant.
