Two student awards of $500.00 each have been established by the International Napoleonic Society for the best published articles on Napoleonic subjects. The articles should demonstrate effective research techniques, a comprehensive understanding of the topic, a facility for writing, and contribute to our under-standing of the subject. A photocopy of the article, which must have appeared in a refereed publication between 1993 and 1996, should be sent to the members of the INS Literary Committee listed below. Submissions must arrive no later than 3 February 1997 to be considered. The decisions of the committee are final, and the results will be announced by the President of the INS, Dr. Ben Weider, by 30 March 1997. The authors of the winning articles will be notified one week prior to the public announcement, and the articles will be reprinted in the journal of the International Napoleonic Society Literary Committee members are:
