Events Abroad 1995

Napoleonic Newsdesk

While you may already know of such overseas events as Waterloo, taking place in June of this year, it is not only the Europeans who are celebrating the Revolutionary and Napoleonic period. From 4 June until 16 September there will be a Bicentenary Festival to commemorate the first British occupation of the Cape of Good Hope in 1795. The event will include a series of lectures and re-enactments in Cape Town, South Africa, and it is hoped that the text of the lectures will be published in due course. If you would like more information about the event, contact Mr Peter Michaels, PO Box 158, Muizenberg 7950, Cape Town, South Africa.
