FNC39, 40, 41, 42, French Line lancers and FN77A, FN78, FN79, Dismounted French Dragoons. Tony Barton is probably the best 15mm figure designer around, which is fortunate for AB Figures. Who is the best in 25mm? I don't know many by name, but rising rapidly to the top of the list must be Bicorne's Robert Fort. The detail on the Lancers is superb, everything is there and when attached to a horse each figure looks like a black and white photograph of the real thing. I always have trouble with figure reviews as describing or even photographing the figure usually conceals or reveals unmentioned/unseen faults and its not the same as having it in your sticky mit! So I have a fairly subjective test. If it looks right and you can be fooled into thinking it was modelled from life then it's O.K. These are better than O.K. Brian Holland keeps telling me that they are "too good to sell". I can go one better they may be to good to paint! The Dismounted Dragoons are a joy to behold, and are excellent sculptures, however, it is with these that some noticeable details are missing. Where are the Eagle emblems on the cartridge boxes and turn backs, whilst this can be fixed with a dab of paint why are they on the lancers but not on the dragoons? This omission, intentional or otherwise, is the only fault I can find. More Reviews
