Battle Report
The battle has begun at first daylight, with the Turk having advanced in the darkness towards the british lines.The Yeomanry commanders have been ordered to rest troops and horses for the night on the reverse slopes, to avoid gun and machinegun fire.But a whole turkish battalion was able to reach the british troops, completely unaware and without firing a single shot! A grenade and bayonet fight starts!
The Anatolians are extremely brave, but they do not succeed to break the two british forward companies.
Many casualties will stand on this hill, turkish and british together under the sun, sigh!
On the left of the turkish advance, another battalion advances with caution, with orders to engage.
The british line appears on the ridge, they start to fire terrible volleys.

On the rear lines, the brigade commander, close to the Sherwood Rangers, orders the regiment to recoil to the nearby hill.
The Notts are under fire from three turkish companies firing from the foot of the hill, and from a quick fire battery about one mile and a half away.

The kurd battalion starts a quick advance to envelope the british left flank.

A second line cavalry squadron has received new orders and is ready to charge the british on the nearby hill.
As can be seen from a distance, just a few british troops are still holding the right british flank.

Armour is coming!
It is one of the famous Rolls Roice Armoured cars, but its has disembarked to have breakfast, they have generic orders to reach the front at leisure. They don’t move!
The stubborrn Turk has occupied the first line of hills, the british are overwhelmed.
The last british battalion forms a defensive perimeter on hill 117.
The battle ends. Unfortunately for the british, no infantry manages to reach this part of the front in time. A discussion between the commanders seems to suggest that the british should have formed a defensive line on the second line of hills, to avoid gunfire and to be able to fire from a distance to the approaching enemy.
But Jerusalem is only a few hours of march away!
