Review by Curt Campbell
The FOUNDRY's shotgun & carbine armed Confederate Cavalry ACWCav9X continues this company's excellent and everexpanding ACW range. There are four castings in the group, three of which can be modified, one by arm placement, another by shotgun, and the last is quite nice as the upper torso fits to the bottom like a ball & socket joint, allowing a wide variety of possible firing positions (I hope the horse is deaf). These are wonderfully posed and cleanly cast figures. I've always enjoyed the facial detail that the Perry twins manage to infuse into their models -they convey that stolid, braced-for-action look that we often see in Don Troiani's paintings. Great stuff. These figures will be especially welcome for the commander who wants to get there "fustust with the mostust". Besides ACWCav9X pictured here, there are available Confederate Cavalry that are pistol-armed ACWCav8X, armed with swords ACWCav7X, and a command pack ACWCav6X. Note that for this review we're showing both sides of each of the four figures in the Shotgun & Carbine pack. Continued on this page are more left and right hand views of the 'Dashing Confederate Cavaly' offered by the FOUNDRY. Customers can either pick the horses they require with their cavalry packs, or leave it to the Foundry to choose the appropriate selection. There are 6 horses for the troopers, Horse 1-6, with Horses 4-6 having the addition of pistol holsters. More Reviews:
