Augustine Moore House We temporarily skipped the rest of the battlefield in order to go to the Moore House, which closes at 4:30pm. We arrived at 4:15. Here, on October 18, officers from both sides met to discuss surrender terms.
This two-story house offers period furniture in the rooms, set up as it was that October day. Downstairs were the meeting rooms and upstairs were the bedrooms. At right, the room used to discuss the surrender. Photo of a Moore House Bedroom (76K) The sign says:
