Three Armies with the First Army consisting of five Infantry Divisions + a Cavalry Division + a Mountain field artillery Rgt + a Howitzer artillery regiment. The Second Army contained one Serbian Division and one Bulgarian Division. The Third Army contained two and a half Infantry regiments. The Special IBAR Field Force had a division + three Reserve Regiments was used only during the First Balkans War. A total of 10 Infantry Divisions plus two Infantry brigades and 1 Cavalry Div were fielded with 500 field guns, a total of 220,000 foot and 3000 cavalry Each Infantry Division had two infantry Brigades + a Cavalry regiment + nine field artillery batteries (one or two may be mountain batteries) + one engineer company + support trains. An Infantry Brigade contained two Infantry regiments of three battalions (1000 men) each. reserve battalions contained only 800 men each. Militia Garrison battalions had only 600 men. Each Cavalry regiment had three squadrons with four troops each. The Independent Cavalry Division had two Brigades of two four-squadron regiments each. Each brigade also had a horse artillery battery attached. The Independent howitzer regiment had two battalions (groups) of a mortar battery (Schneider 240mm) and two howitzer (150mm Schneider) batteries. Each battery had four guns. The Independent Mountain Artillery regiment contained two battalions of three batteries with four Creusot 75mm guns each. The mountain guns were transported by pack animals. The Divisional Artillery batteries had four guns of either 75mm French Schneider (First line) or 80mm Banye for Reserve batteries.The Maxim machine-gun was carried by pack animals. Infantry carried the 7mm Mauser and reserve units carried the 10mm Berdan or the older M1880 Mauser. There was also an aviation reconnaissance section of two balloons. Infantry Divisions were named for the area of recruitment such as 'Belgrade' or 'Valivo'.
