THE SERBIAN FRONTOctober 10 1912. Battle of Kumanovo. The Turkish 7th Army (V, VI and VII Corps) instead of establishing defensive positions launches an attack against the Serbian 1st Army. The Turkish V Corps is deployed to prevent the Serbian 2nd Army from reinforcing the 1st Army. The Serbs repelled the Turks and counter-attacked on Oct 11th. October 20-24 1912. Battle of Perlepe. The bulk of the Turkish 7th Army (V and VII Corps) regrouped and formed defensive positions. The Serbian 1st Army attacked in three large columns. A series of small engagements occurred as each column pushed foward. One column was halted at Kichevo but the other column succeeded in breaking through the Turkish lines. The Turks withdraw toward Monastir where the VI Corps is located. November 1-5 1912. Battle of Monastir. The Turkish VI Corps + remnants of the V and VII Corps form a defensive line north of Monastir. The Serbian 1st Army again leads the attack and smahes the Turkish forces which forces them to surrender with only a few units escaping. THE MONTENEGRIN FRONTOctober 1912 - April 1913. Most of the activity of the Montenegro Army was focused on capturing Scutari. The city was defended by a series of forts dependent on the fortified Tarabosh Mountain. The Montenegrins failed to take the fortress even after being reinforced by the Serbian 4th Army in January 1913. The Turks surrendered in April 1913 after assassinating their very efficient commander Hasan Riza Pasha. Major Battles of the Balkan Wars
