This saw the Trojans with their advantages gained from another victory, both sides had 3 x 24 pt armies, the Trojans once again received 12 further points of standard stuff – to use as they desired. The Trojans again rolled 4 dice each turn – taking the best 3. They also had one +1 hero (Hector), one Paladin with the ability to shoot (Paris stayed with the affray having been successful so far) and an overall CinC with body guard, able to defend but not attack (Priam). The Trojans could also call up one of the Gods to help but received no help from Zeus, Zeus having ordained that it was Hectors day to die. For the Greeks Achilles now joined the fray (as a General Paladin with the ability to re-roll one dice in a battle – representing Athena's meddling). Accompanying Achilles were 12 points of Myrmidons, his elite soldiers, the Greeks also had an ordinary hero (Ajax) and an overall CinC with body guard able to attack (Agamemnon). The Greeks had the ability to call up two of the Gods to help (Athena and Hera) but only one could be on table at any time. The Greeks now rolled 4 dice as they had 4 generals on table. On the Greek right Rob overwhelmed the Trojans with massed arrow fire. In the centre Achilles left his Myrmidons to face the hated Hector - dismised him from the battle then turned onto Paris, chasing him away also. The Trojans called upon the gods for help and a God (Ares?) took on Achilles (only a God can stand before Achilles when he is in such a rage). Now with the front stable the Trojans settled down to try to finish off the Greeks, they dispatched Menelaus (AGAIN!) leaving his army sadly leaderless - however in a repeat performance of an earlier mistake the Trojans once again allocated a pip dice with one pip to the army with the god - once again dismissing him from the field!! Now the Greeks in their turn summoned Athena and against such powerful foes as Athena and Achilles the Trojan right broke. Meanwhile Godlike Rob broke the Trojan left flank. The last game saw the Trojans chased back into Troy through the Scean gate. But the last act had still to be played out. Hector faced Achilles in single combat, Hector on a base 6, Achilles on a 7 (but with one re-roll). The first toss saw Hector roll a 6 - surely Achilles was doomed! and certainly it looked that way as Achilles threw a 3. But Achilles had one re-roll, and Athena on his side. Achilles rolled again - a 6 and Hector was dead, pierced through the throat by Achilles heavy lance. Thus was the game ended - and a lesson for us all - do not try to take on the Gods, no man can win against them........
