Later this Spring, you should see the release of four games covering four of the battles of the Wars of the Roses. Right now, the first four battles to be released are Towton, Barnet, Tewkesbury, and Mortimer's Cross. Fans of my chit quads will notice that my chit commands are still there but little else is the same and even they have changed to reflect the battle field of the period. By this time, the longbow has placed cavalry at the back of the battlefield, used for little except as transportation and the occasional attack of the straggler. In its stead, infantry takes the dominate role on the battle field and the leadership of each battle becomes all important. In game terms leaders are rated for how aggressive, timid, or controlled they are. When a leader is given a command that runs against his grain, there is an ever increasing likelihood that his own preferences will rise above orders in the heat of combat. Commands are no longer easily changed or assuredly kept. Instead, the player has to constantly worry if during battle each of his leaders will function as he wants. Add on top of that, battle morale and the cumbersome movements of each battle and you have battle oames short, bloody, and decisive. If all goes well, eventually all major battles of the Wars of the Roses will be covered. More Updates
