Ghalon

Rank: Foot Soldier
Primary Skill: Melee Combat, Archery, Confused Looks
Secondary Skills: Riding, Woodcarving

Ghalon is a recent recruit and the third son of a smalltown woodcarver. He sports clean, farm-fed good looks, and is a stereotypical adventure-seeker: inexperienced, wide-eyed, and out for glory.

His induction into the company is the topic of occasional gossip within the ranks, much to his chagrin. Running away from home as soon as he could wield a sword, Ghalon encountered a beauty he would later know as Aurella. He found her a virtual prisoner of her overbearing father, and came up with a plan for her release -- he drained and hid within a wine barrel intended to be delivered to her home; but it was placed on the bottom of a large stack of kegs, trapping him. Much later, the Dragons liberated Aurella and procured several of the barrels for the night's festivities.

Once back at the camp, Ghalon huddled in embarrassed horror as Ruckus and others drunkenly tried to discover why no ale was forthcoming from the barrel. Unable to move his legs from sitting inside for so many hours, Ghalon's body was stuck in a rigid fetal pose as Ontas quizzically lifted him from his wooden cage.

Thereafter, he became the company's servant for a time. During the next major Darlani attack, however, he watched one of the foot-soldiers he had befriended fall, and picking up his sword, took up the fight in his stead. The Darlani troop responsible never made it off the battlefield that day, and Ghalon has since been brought on as a fully paid soldier. He still carries his lost comrade's weapon.

Today, he is often relegated to the role of company mascot, a position he secretly appreciates because it represents a level of acceptance he never had at home...

Thallin

Rank: Second Lieutenant (sub-commander)
Primary Skills: Archery, Riding, Hunting, Scrounging
Secondary Skills: Melee Combat, Leadership

Thallin sports a completely bald pate and a thick handlebar mustache under his hawkish nose. He is somewhat muscular with a pronounced belly, which several of the less caring members attribute to odd culinary habits - eating off the forest floor, bringing home less than satisfactory portions, scavenging burnt-out camps and villages, etc.

Thallin is a good soldier, but his true talents are foraging, hunting, and scrounging. If the company needs something found - a wagon wheel, nails, candle wax, anything - he is the one to go to. His squads are often the best fed in the company, assuming he didn't get there first...

Aegim Cresst

Rank: Second Lieutenant
Primary Skills: Engineering, Siege Warfare, Carpentry, Stonemasonry
Secondary Skills: Blacksmithing, Fighting, Storytelling, Riding

Aegim is one of only a few remaining members who were with Rhiannon's father when he defected from the Darlani army. He is the oldest member of the Dragons (in his 60s), with a shock of unkempt white hair, a wiry build, and a patch over his right eye.

Aegim is a genius at siege warfare, and is considered by many to be the company's most valuable resource. During quiet moments, he can be absent-minded, but is always extremely lucid and wildly invigorated when confronted with a challenge in his area of expertise. In conversation, he tends to ramble and segues at the oddest times into bold recountings of the "glory days" of the company.

He looks on Rhiannon as a kind of surrogate daughter, but dislikes Condar, whom he is convinced will someday break her heart...
