Command and Colors

ACW game by Richard Borg

reviewed by Craig Martelle

Command and Colors plays on a hex-grid map (4 inch hexes) with stands of 25mm ACW figures. The game plays very quickly and the rules can be learned within minutes. I give it a thumbs up in regards to retaining a historical flavor for the ACW period. Richard has also produced a Revolutionary War variant which plays just as quickly, with notable differences to give it the AWI period flavor. When you buy the game, what you get is the rules, a booklet of scenarios, the dice and the cards. You'll have to mount your own figures and draw up your own hex map, but clear instructions for this are in the package. For a copy of Command and Colors, send your $20 to Richard Borg at 319 Haverlake Circle, Apopka, FL 32712 or give him a call at (407) 880-2617. These are superb games to introduce younger players to the hobby or to just relax over for a quick game. Highly recommended for a quick playing, fun time!

The long-awaited arrival of Sid Meier's Gettysburg is here. The game mechanics are very smooth and well-done. If you are a fan of Sid's premier offering, Civilization, then you'll be happy with Gettysburg. If you were a fan of the SSI title of Gettysburg, then you'll really love this version. If you have any questions, here's the official Sid Meier's Gettysburg site.
