Swiss Regiments
a L'Étranger

Lt Colonel F.H.Tyrell

From the Imbibing Bibliophile himself

PALLAS ARMATA: For a list send a SSAE to 98 Priory Road, Tonbridge, Kent TN9 2BP.

A very business-like summary of the history of les suisses which gives details of the Swiss in the service of France, Britain, Naples, Spain, Savoy, Austria and the United Provinces. Those of you interested in odd details (like the Captain-General's company having different coloured flag staves from the other companies) are going to enjoy this. There is also a lot of detail on the Swiss military families, did you know the "Prussian" family of Dohna was really Swiss? About thirty pages - excellent value for the military history fan.
