Situation for the Referee: The Federal Yugoslav Navy has received intelligence that two Croatian patrol boats will be sortieing from the naval base at Split for a rare night patrol of Croatian territorial waters. Since the beginning of the Serbian effort to ethnically cleanse Bosnia/Hercegovina, the Yugoslav Navy has been trying to catch what few assets the Croats have in a decisive engagement. The Croats have been, understandably, uncooperative but that will all change tonight. The only problem is that the UN has maintained a near constant naval presence just outside Yugoslav territorial waters. Given the high tensions as of later, it could be a bit risky to engage the Croat patrol boats in close proximity to the UN units. But then again this is a civil war and the UN has no right to interfere, so let the bystander beware. Tactical Situation: Two frigates, an U.S. FFG 7 and an UK Type 23, are patrolling 15 nm off the coast (speed 12 knots) of the former Yugoslavia as part of the UN arms embargo against the three belligerents. Two Croatian PTGs are patrolling on a course of 180' at 15 knots while maintaining a distance of 8 nm from the coast. The Yugoslav force of one FFL and three PTGs are on a reciprocal course at 12 knots and 4 nm from the coast. Yugoslav Victory Conditions: Decisive. Sink both Croatian patrol boats. Tactical.- Sink one Croatian patrol boat or a UN frigate Croat Victory Conditions: Decisive: Escort the arms trawler safely to Split. Tacticak Sinking any Yugoslavian ship. UN Victory Conditions: Decisive: Intercept the arms trawler. Tactical. No damage to either frigate (don't get shot). Map
