Designer and Sculptor Paul Baunshaw. I will list some of these impressive figures, comment and then draw some of them, not to scale. In this release, there are three knights superbly mounted and six foot figures. Shields and weapons are supplied separately, at no extra cost. Comprising two types of small "heater" shield, an "almond or kite" shield and lance, chain mace, sword, axe or mace. These will be supplied to suit, or as requested, if stocks permit. Foot/Riders 60p, Horses 90p or œ1.10 (MHI or MHz).

MFK1 Foot knight, long surcoat, round helm with chin guard, standing, sword drawn. The sword is supplied separately.

MFK2 Foot knight, long surcoat, plain round helm, nasal bar, defending. Shield arm up, sword sheathed at his left side open hand to receive weapon.

MFK3 Foot knight, long surcoat, round heDn nasal bar, cheek and neck guards, attacking. Sword sheathed at his side. Right arm up and back in a striking pose. Very interesting helmet with echoes of the Jorrik find.

MFK4 Foot knight, short surcoat, plain round helm, standing. Holding a spear? His sword is sheathed by his side. Looks intendy forward.

MFK5 Foot knight, short surcoat, plain flat topped helm, defending, sword drawn. Sword hand held back, shield up - ready to get in a telling stroke.

MFK6 Foot knight, short surcoat, round helm, face mask, attacking. The round helm has a comb top. The mask was called a "klappvisier" hinged at the top. When not in use it was taken off, the pins in the hinges were attached to the helmet by little chains so they wouldn't be lost.

MMK1 Mounted knight, surcoat, flat topped great helm, couched Once - use horse MA or MH4. The knight sits upright with his lance perpendicular.

MMK2 Mounted knight, surcoat, flat topped great helm, lance at rest (use horse MH1 or MH3). He leans forward correctly - actually his backside would be up into the large wooden cantle of the saddle - and his toes pointed downwards in the stirrups - the only error I can see on this model, 'cos the toes point upward if anything. The theory was, with toes down, the shock of impact wouldn't force the feet out of the stirrups. The horse has a lovely flowing bardinganda great galloping action. You can let your heraldic prowess have free rein on this.

MMK3 Mounted knight, surcoat, flat topped great helm, attacking, arm raised for personal side arm (use horse MHz or MH4). A variety of these side arms are available. Horses

MH1 Warhorse, trapper, standing/walking.

MH2 Warhorse, trapper, galloping.

MH3 Warhorse, standing/walking.

MH4 Warhorse, galloping.

Settlers

The pewter really does take excellent detail and a good modeler can take advantage of these qualities. Here, with these figures, it is.

MC1 Woman carrying child in arms. Mob cap, shawl neckline, long dress.

MC2 Woman with rifle. Looks as if she knows what to do with it.

MC3 Woman in bonnet loading a musket with ramrod. "Here y'are Zeke, give 'em hell!"

MC4 Woman in bonnet and puffed sleevedress, pistol. She's holding the pistol in both hands. Looks like a dragoon pistol and they weighed 5Ibs or so.

MC5 Cowboy, waistcoat, hat, pistol. Big boots, leaning into the shot.

MC6 Kneeling settler, rifle. Very good pose. Peaked cap - a Sharps carbine perhaps.

MC7 Standing firing rifle, hat. A Henry or Winchester. Pistol at his belt - moustache. Excellent detail.

MC8 Kneeling, firing pistol, bareheaded. Hat is in his left hand down by his knee.

MC9 Moving forward, 2 pistols, hat. Right hand pistol raised above head height. 2nd pistol drawn by his left leg. Pose full of movement.

MC 10 Kneeling firing nfle. Bowler/derby. Another good aiming pose.

MC 11 Standing, hat, firing Winchester, in duster. Range hat on his head.

MC12 Kneeling firing pistol, rifle, butt grounded, in left hand. Run out of ammo for the rifle? (A a jam?

MCC1 on MCC6 Well posed rider on nicely modelled horse.

M6 Wagon, settlers. Excellently modelled and crisply cast 4 wheel wagon.

M7, 8, and 9 7: Canvas cover. 8: wagon driver seated. 9: is a well tacked up draught horse. All to go with M6 of course.

MCC2 Mountain man, mounted, cradled musket. Raccoon tail hat, buckskins (use horse ACWC9). Marvelous evocation of the furthest west.

Plains Indians

PI1* Brave, breechcloth, running.

PI2* Blave, breechcloth, running, arm raised.

PI3 Brave, breechcloth, filing bow (one piece galloping horse and rider casting). Good action of the horse.

PI4 Brave, breechcloth, standing firing. Good cuddled aim pose.

PI5 Brave, breechcloth, US Anny fatigue jacket and kept, running. A scout? Feather in his kept!

PI6 Brave, breechcloth, leggings, anns raised.

PI7 Brave, breechcloth, leggings, Texan hat, standing, fining bow. Good pose. Noble people always look faintly ridiculous in White eyes clothes.

PI8 Brave, breechcloth, Coyote skin head dress, standing firing nfle. Fancy that head dress slowly rising over a sage brush! Mounted

PIC1* Mounted chief, breechcloth, war bonnet, anns raised. A "pipe" breastplate.

PIC2* Mounted brave, breechcloth, ann raised. Shouting, hand open to take separate weapon.

PIC5 Galloping horse variant 2. Stretched neck, flying tail, mally pounding along.

PIC6 Galloping horse variant 3. Going legs at full stretch.

PIC7 Standing horse. Has a hackamore or jaw rope bndle. The modeler knows his horses.

PIC8 Chief, breechcloth, warbonnet, one arm raised. Breast-plate also.

PIC9 Brave, breechcloth, reloading bow from quiver. Horse and rider are one-piece casting. Shield on the mount's right shoulder - great action pose.

PIC 10 Brave, breechcloth, buffalo head dress firing nfle. Horse and rider are one-piece casting. Going lickety-split. A sagamore taking part in the fight?

PIC11 Brave, breechcloth, head back, arm raised, casualty: designed for use with PIC12, but can be used with PC 5, 6 or 7.

PIC 12 Collapsing horse casualty figure. Separate base for mounting with PIC11 or can be used without base as a wounded horse writhing and kicking on the ground, or as a live horse scratching its back on the turf] Excellent animation.

* separate shield (two types), choice of weapons: knife, tomahawk, lance or carbine. State preference with your order. Finally, A Napoleonic Grenadier!

NF20 French Imperial Guard. Grenadier a Pied, standing, firing musket. Wonderful detail. lust put a wash of white acrylic on this figure and I see all the details bloom. "Old Trousers" himself Drawings now:
