20mm Wars of the Roses and Burgundian Wars available from 96, Sandfield Road, Arnold, Nottingham NG5 6QJ These figures are available in USA from Brookhurst Hobbies (in blister packs) and "Eagles Next" in Germany or by mail order from Sandfield Road. These 20mm figures are cast in pewter and, as with everything else unfortunately, prices have gone up. Foot 35p. Riders 35p. Horses 70p. Pack of figures 4.20. These figures are well up to the excellent standard this Finn usually produces. I will list these packs/figures, cogent and draw some, not to scale. circa 1480 Mounted c. Currour light lance (mixed heads available), sword. One in a barbute helmet, the other wearing a sallet and waving his sword. d. Longbow mounted. One in a kettle hat, the other in a sallet. Only one thing wrong with these; they have pointed shoes. Only nobility and gentry were allowed to wear these under special laws obtaining to dress at the time. Snip 'em off. e. Knight jousting. One wears a sallet, the other a passerelle. Use foil to caparison the horse which has amoured neck defenses f. The sallet wearer is a serjeant. circa 1480 Dismounted c. Armoured billman. Quite a collection in sallet, barbute, kettle hat, bevored barbute and closed helm with breathers! All have secondary arms of sword and dagger. f . Liveried Longbowman. Another good helmeted assortment, drawing their bows to the ear. Think of Crecy - 6,000 archers - 5 arrows every 12 seconds = 30,000 arrows a minute! These have small short quivers on their right hip. circa 1480 Artillery Pack (contains 1 gun and 4 crew) a. Olgan Gun.3 barrels slightly splayed on a good trail with separate wheels. The four crew are a porte feu, a sponge/rammer, a chamber carrier and a man kneeling at the shot and powder chest. The barrel has an elevating quadrant at the breech end. [Cf "Arms and Uniforms, The Age of Chivalry, L.&F. Funken, pub. Ward Lock, 1981, parts 2 and 3] circa 1480 Command Pack.
