Victory: The US player has two victory conditions. First, they must break, capture or destroy all 8 Japanese rifle squads. Secondly, they must occupy the top of the center hill (marked by a star on the game map). Anything else is a Japanese win. The US moves first and has six turns to accomplish their mission.
Terrain: The Hills are light green and are considered normal for movement. Woods are dark green, heavy and give a +2 save. The Japanese player may fully entrench every squad section or weapons team.
Deployment: All US units must start within 6" of the south and east table edges. The Japanese player must set up first inside their start lines. As the US had already fought on the escarpment the previous two days, there was not much the Japanese had hidden from them. To simulate this, only one weapons team and three squads may be set up hidden. All the rest must be placed on the table.
Special Rules: There are no special rules.
