The apparent demise of 'Abanderado!' the Spanish Civil War newsletter left a gap in the provision in the UK for those with an interest in Spain 1936-1939. Fortunately the rise of this new organisation which is primarily a re-enactment, and living history group, numbering many wargamers (including me) in its ranks, has done something to plug an obvious gap in research and publication. Their newsletter 'News from the Front' contains much information and background on the war and is worth encountering if you are a serious SCW buff.
