What I like about the figures I received is that they have a presence, in that they have realistic poses. There are 22 new Celts etc, 5 of which are mounted and I received CE11 ‘Mailed standing ‘bird’ helmet’. He stands with arms held high, open to receive weapon and shield (you could make him left handed if you felt like it) and is bellowing out a challenge to a likely warrior from the opposition. His sword is separate and you can use that instead of the spear if you so wish.

Carthage has 5 cavalrymen, an elephant with tower + 2 crew, a bolt thrower with 2 crew and 13 warriors ranging from slingers to heavy infantry. I received C13 ‘Foot Officer’, right arm raised for either a spear or a standard (supplied free on request), his left foot is on a rock and the figure is given animation by his billowing cloak and plume on his helmet. Very useful figure who could be used in most armies of the time.

Rome is represented by R5 ‘Musician’, a bareheaded, cloaked figure blowing lustily on his instrument. All these figures have a depth of detail and they are supplied with coloured pages which demonstrate how well they paint up. Paul Johnston informs me that Alexander’s Successors will be out soon and if they are of the same standard as these they will be impressive. For all UK purchasers, second class post is FREE, no matter how small the order! For outside the UK spend £40 and your postage is free! For pricing check out the web site or send me a s.a.e and you can have the coloured posters as well! First come first served. Recommended.
