Osprey Releases
and New Military Club

by O'rr Bob

Sorry I missed the last edition but Kenn's not much use as an alarm clock.

[Fact] My club's into Rapid Fire at the moment using the new 15mm WWII figures. My Shermans are desperately in need of some support to wipe the smug smile off the face of the guy who brought the Germans. He mentioned he was buying some tanks, I foolishly didn't enquire which type and now face Tigers each week, mind you we surprised him the other week with a couple of newly purchased British 171b anti-tank guns. I only wish they would hurry up with those M10 Tank destroyers.

The other evening a few of us were test playing the rules and as my Americans advanced we ended up having a heated discussion over the number of figures that could fit into a M3 half track. My argument being that in the middle of a battle nobody was likely to bother whether it carried 10 or 11 men. I thought about picking my troops up and going home until it dawned on me that I was getting a bit old to be taking my ball away so nobody else could play, it's enough to turn you into a solo wargamer permanently. [Knowing the opponent I find it hard to believe such a famous tabletop general could only operate with superior tanks and not superior tactics. And true to his word Bob Mirrey is now a fully signed (and paid up) member! ]

I hope you've all saved up your dosh as we have a bumper selection from Osprey publishing for the period going up to Christmas..
