This is undoubtedly the most intense war movie I've ever seen. It's as realistic as can be portrayed. The death and carnage jump out at you from the first moment. The movie jumps right into the D-Day landing and follows an Army Captain and his company, then platoon, then squad through the next week. Their trials and tribulations are shown from minute to minute as they battle with the Germans and their own humanity. From the beach landing and the move inland to offensive urban warfare to storming a machinegun nest in the open to defensive urban warfare, each stage of warfare is chronicled. The tactics used are realistic and the personalities of the characters believable. The weaponry is historically accurate from MG-34s & 42s to the Tiger tank, to SDKFZs to the 20mm. A great movie and a must-see for any student of WWII history. More Reviews:
