Oliver Cromwell is possibly unique ln the quantity of clothing he is said to have scattered about the country. There is amongst other things, a hat at Farnley Hall near Otley, W Yorks; His boots were formerly shown at Syston Court near Bristol, and another pair at Stamford, Burghley House is said to have a cloak and helmet at the Old Priory, Preston, Lancs; and there are of course the items at the Cromwell Museum, Huntingdon.
