The CTV was successful in the operations in the North, perhaps too successful. The Basque forces were more willing to surrender to the CTV elements than to the Nationalist forces. The Italians would give better terms of condition, with the result that the Nationalist government was displeased with the actions of the CTV. While the Italian Air Force and artillery of the CTV was used throughout the next six months, the ground forces were withdrawn from combat and placed in reserve. While awaiting combat, the CTV was reorganized again into three divisions, including a new division created from the Italian-Spanish mixed Brigades.
