Hal Thinglum recently announced that this year's recipient of MWAN's Man On Horseback Award is the editor of The Courier, Dick Bryant. Dick joins such hobby luminaries as Don Featherstone, Jack Scruby, Duke Siefried, Fred Vietmeyer and Lynn Bodin in being recognized by MWAN for his contributions to the hobby. The Midwest Wargamer's Association Newsletter award was in recongition of Dick's efforts with The Courier, his seminal contributions to the initiation of HMGS and his support of the hobby in general. Issue #47 of MWAN contained dozens of letters from readers of The Courier and wargaming friends of Dick joining in honoring him. I interviewed Dick for this short column. His reaction was surprise and gratitude that so many would come forward with thanks forwhat he has attempted to give back to the hobby. A hobby that has given him so much pleasure, a pleasure topped off by this award.
