MLRMLR Figures, London, UK, $2.00/3 pk. MLR Figures makes the best 20mm (aka 1/72-1/76 scale) figures I've seen. My samples are of British and Wehrmacht troops; recent advertisements list US and Waffen-SS as well. Detailing is outstanding, with the smallest bits of gear carefully reproduced -- some things are so tiny that they remain invisible until the figures are primed! Poses aren't heroic -- the figures all look tired and show the weight of their gear. Anatomy is right on, which is as unusual as it is welcome. These figures are above average in price, but are well worth it. I wholeheartedly recommend MLR Figures to gamers wishing to be 'just a cut above' the crowd, as well as to small scale armor modelers wanting some nicely done infantry to display with their vehicles. FalconFalcon Miniatures, P.O. Box 444, Medford, MA 021 55, makes a wide variety of figures in this range. The samples I received include a Japanese 75mm howitzer and crew, and several Japanese, German, and American infantry. Designed for the skirmish gamer, these figures are well animated, and are, by and large, in convincing poses. Scale varies a bit (my samples ranged from 21mm to 25mm tall from sole to top of helmet...). Detailing varies somewhat, too. Weapons, uniforms, and equipment are all extensively detailed, but the scale of the weapons and some of the equipment seems to vary a bit from that of the figures. The variety of weapons is quite nice, with such things as BARs, M3 grease guns and even a Japanese knee mortar included. These troops should do well with the 20mm skirmish gamer. More Reviews
