The basic battlegroup (actually a pair of company teams with some HQ elements), selecting one of each set of options, will cost the gamer approximately $63.45. Buying all of the options doesn't necessarily build a bigger unit -- it merely provides swaps to vary the makeup of the force. If you were to build this force using only CinC models (except for the infantry - due to their quality and durability, I recommend exclusive use of ROS infantry), the cost of the basic force would be $57.45 (this is prior to CinC's mail-order discounts). If ROS miniatures were exclusively used, the basic force cost would be $38.20. US 1:5 1987 TASKFORCE HQ Element: 1 MBT, 1 M577, 1 M3 Tank Battalion: 14 MBT, 1 M3, 1 HUMV/StingerAAGW, 1 M125, 1 AVLB, 1 M88 (3 MBT in each of 4 cos, all else in HQ) Mech Battalion: 13 M2 or M113, 3 M901 ITV, 1 HUMMV/Stinger AAGW, 1 M125, 1 M3, 1 M577, 12 plts inf (3 M2 or M113 in each of 4 cos, 3 M901 in ITV co., all else in HQ) Cavalry Squadron: 2 M1, 2 M3 ADA Company: 2 M163 VADS, 1 HUMMV/Stinger AAGW, 1 M730 Chaparral DS Artillery Battalion: 2 M109A2, 1 M577 Engineer Company: 1 M577, 1 M728 CV, 2 M113, 3 plts, 1 AVLB This multi-battalion Taskforce will cost approximately $84.50. Adding in all ofthe swaps will, in this case, give the basics of another taskforce. Substituting CinC where possible, the figure drops to $78.25 (pre-discount, of course), while substituting ROS will drop the price to $63.75.
