Swedish Colors and Standards

Great Northern War

by Ken Bunger

Written by Dan Schorr, this is the ultimate in specialist studies by a very knowledgeable author. The forty-six page booklet consists of 253 black and white line drawings of regimental and company colors. At least 100 different regiments are represented. Each drawing has a caption precisely describing the colors of the flag.

The author was stationed in Scandinavia and obviously put his time to good use. The bibliography consisting of Swedish works (primarily) bears this out. Unless one wishes to learn Swedish and spend a few months at the Meddelande Armemuseum, I doubt this information is otherwise available.

I highly recommend this study. Available for $10 from the author at 258 Zutawforest Dr., Waldorf, MD 20601.

[Reviewer's Note: A good work on the Swede's opponents is my fellow editor's Swedish and Russian Armies of the Great Northern War by Pat Condray for $3.50 from 8234 Kings Arm Dr., Alexandria, VA 22038.]
