Three figures are representatives of the Hoplite range: a Libyian spearman, a Libyian javelinman from the Carthaginian series and a newly released staff-slinger for the Macedonian series. These figures are the best sculpted ancient wargame figures on the market today. They are immaculate in detail, anatomy, and crispness of casting. I have purchased many packs at the local hobby shop and all the figures were practically flashfree. One of the bext things about these figures is the facial detail, a personality is created into each casting. Furthermore, the under-cutting and draping of tunics, spolas, etc., make them a painters dream for shading and high lighting. These were the figures (I'm painting a Cartheginian Army) that brought me back into collecting and wargaming in the 25 mm. scale; you can't ask for a better recommendation than that! More 25 mm. fantasy figures have just been released by Ral Partha Enterprises (3726 Lonsdale, Cincinnati, Ohio 45227). These have all been sculpted by Tom Meier who has, by virtue of his workmanship, set the standard for the rest of the hobby. The three figures represent an armored Winged Gremlin, a highly imaginative Air Elemental (blowing up a storm) and a Troll strikingwith a huge club. The face on the troll is particularly well animated in a fierce jowly snarl. The overall quality of the figures is outstanding, the detail of the winged gremlin and reptilian skin are amazing.
