Redoubt

25mm ACW

review by Dick Bryant

Redoubt has been increasing its ACW line so fast that it is almost impossible to keep up with it! The latest addition is the Cavalry mounted and dismounted with horseholders; Mounted and dismounted officers (advertised as artillery officers - but can in reality be used as infantry officers.); Limber horses with riders and civilians (to watch the debacle at First Bull Run). The figures all measure 25M Barrett. The horses fit in scale as well. Most of the figures come with interchangeable heads and with arms holding different weapons. You can easily make up a small diorama out of each stand with 2/3 figures on it. The have also released Negro heads so that you can raise some of the black units (54th MA, etc). Just order the standard infantry (Union, of course) and the negro heads. While the photos show Union figures, the Confederate figures are the same except with the different heads. Note the Civilian figures will work very well with Old West scenarios. The detail and proportion are great and the figures paint up exceedingly well - even for a hacker like me.

As if the ACW doesn’t keep them busy enough, they are expanding their Napoleonic line at about the same clip. The latest addition being French Lancers, British Guard Cavalry and Napoleonic Personality figures. These also measure 25M on the Barrett Scale. The 6 civilians are $9.60, Infantry sells for $9.60 for 6 and cavalry is $24.95 for 6 figures and 6 horses. Personality figures (Napoleonic) are $6.50 ea... The US Rep constantly offers 10-15% discounts in his flyers so it is well to get on his mailing list’ He has moved into a new expanded warehouse and will be carrying other lines - Village Green, 1st corps, Calpe Miniatures, Battle Group and Total System Sceanics.

The USA Rep is Miniature Service Center, 1386 Portofino Drive, Yuba City, CA 95993. (530)-673-5169.
