This book is published in the USA by the Two Continents Publishing Group, 30 East 42 Street, New York and was editied and compiled by Kenneth Macksey. It recounts the story of the development and employment of tanks and related vehicles in a chronological outline fromearliest history to the present. Each chapter is a series of short items of a paragraph or so with a bold-type heading, such as "An important, though little publicized, tank battle ... ", "The first great tank invasion ... " There are appendices on tank nomenclature, camouflage, principal A.F.V. campaigns and battles, important A.F.V. which entered service, data of A.F.V. main armaments which entered service, anti-tank guided weapon data, tank strengths by nations, building a tank, and sources and bibliography. Perhaps as important as the text are the very numerous, and excellent photographs, quite a few of which are in color, on almost every page. This an excellent work of great value to anyone truly interested in twentieth century warfare and a must for all armor buffs. It sells for $8.95 and should be available at military hobby shops and better book stores. More Book Reviews
