Squadron/Signal Publication adds this eleventh title to their "Armor in Action" series - the first ten of which were reviewed here in PF #64. The author is Bruce Culver and it is illustrated by Don Greer. The physical format is the same as its predecessors: 50 pages plus covers, 8" high by 11" wide. Full color paintings of the subject on the front and back covers and the center spread. There is about one page of text on Panther development, plus a paragraph or so with the sections for each model. Twelve pages are devoted to the ausf. D model , thirteen to the ausf. A, eleven to the ausf.G, three to the Bergepanther tank recovery vehicle, and four to the Jagdpanther tank destroyer. Complete specifications are given on the D and G models, and Jagdpanther. Front, rear, side and top view scale drawings are provided on all these plus the Bergepanther. But the main purpose of these booklets is to provide action photos for the modeler, historian or armor buff. and the latest volumn does that very well, as just about every angle and condition imaginable is shown. The only obvious lack is that there are no shots of the interior, except one showing a commander inside his cupola. All in all a very worthy addition, in fact probably one of the two or three best of the series, It sells for $3.95 and is available from Squadron Shops and other good hobby shops across the country, or by mail from the Squadron Shop, Dept. PF, 3461 East Ten Mile Road, Warren MI 48091 (add 75 cents for postage and handling). More Book Reviews
