1805

2nd Btn Leib Regiment, 2nd Btn Kurprinz Regiment, 1st & 2nd Btns Markgraf Ludwig Regiment, Jager Btn, Foot Battery No.2 - 6 guns, A Hussar detachment Total 3200 men Mainlyused as garrison troops and prisoner escorts.

1806 and 1807

Formed the 2nd Division, 10th Corps under Marechal Lefebvre.

Hesse-Darmstadt Chevau. 3 sqdns - 335 men
Between 18th February and 7th March 1807, the division was engaged in several skirmishes on their march to the siege of Danzig. Upon reaching Danzig the Baden troops found themselves in lively action with Danzig's garrison, fighting at least seven actions with the defenders, from 116th March to 13th April. After Danzig fell the division became part of the garrison. A reseive of 1500 men was attached to an observation Corps under Marechal Brune where it was employed as troops in Swedish Pommerania.

1809

In the campaign against Austria, the Baden conti ngent was integrated into the 4th Corps under Messena.

The Baden line regiment and foot battery was brigaded with the 2nd Nassau regiment, and assigned to 4th Corps under Marechal Lefebre. They fought at: Oct/Nov 1808; Durango, Zornosa, Balmaseda and Espinosa March 1809: Medellin July 1809: Talavera August 1809: Almonacid November 1809: Ocana

1810-13

employed in operations against Spanish guerrillas.

1812

Apart from the 2nd Line Regt. who were attached to Davouts' 1st Div., the main body of Baden troops together with Berg and Hesse Darmstadt units, formed the 26th Division of 9th Corps under Marechal Victor.

The Baden Hussar regiment were assigned to the 9th corps cavalry division.

9th Corps advanced into Russia and occupied Smolensk on the 28th September where it remained until the 11th October. During the main army's retreat, 9th Corps and 2nd Corps fought the Russian 1st Corps at Czasniki on the 31st October. At the Berezina the Hussars, alongside the Hessian Chevaulegers, made their famous "charge of death" in which they covered themselves with glory. As with the rest of the Grande Armee, the Baden contingent was practically destroyed in Russia.

1813

The Baden Army was rebuilt and formed part of the 39th division, 3rd Corps initially under Marechal Ney.

The Baden Dragoons were part of the 3rd corps light cavalry.

The Baden troops were heavily engaged during the 1813 campaign in Saxony where they fought at Lutzen, Bautzen and Leipzig. A second brigade, 2nd Baden Line 2btns, light btn. von Lingg and a four gun battery, formed part of the Leipzig garrison.

1814

Baden was absorbed into the allied army, joining the German 8th Corps, where they were employed in various sieges and blockades.

1815

The Baden Army, now a full division of some 18500 men, was now part of the Austrian 2nd Corps.
