Courses

by Paul Chamberlain

While books allow you to delve into the period from the comfort of your own armchair, there are other ways of studying the period. A number of Universities and Adult Education Centres run courses on aspects of the period. The School of Continuing Studies, University of Birmingham, is running such a study entitled Nelson and Wellington Napoleonic Study Course. The course begins on 6th October 1993, and will have started by the time you read this, but the Organiser, Tim Hicks, runs such means of study each year. The course consists of eleven sessions looking at the lives and careers of Wellington and Nelson, including study days at Stratfield Save and HMS Victory/Royal Navy Museum, Portsmouth. If you would like to find out more about such studies that are held in the future, contact Tim at the University on 021600 6587.
