Greenhill have acquired Chatham Publishing, one of the world's best list of books about ships and the sea. Chatham was set up in 1996 and since that date has produced over 150 titles, whose scope extends from academic history to popular paperbacks across the whole spectrum of maritime and naval topics. Duckworths, a long-established general publisher, funded the original start-up of Chatham but when its parent company ran into financial difficulties Chatham was forced into administration, from where Greenhill Books rescued it. Rob Gardiner, the Publisher of Chatham, welcomed the move, saying "We have always regarded Greenhill as the military equivalent of our maritime list, sharing the same aspirations and ideals. After our recent stormy time. It would be difficult to think of a more suitable haven for Chatham." Many of Chatham's titles have been reviewed in the pages of this magazine, and it is good to note that Greenhill is fully committed to rebuilding the imprint's publishing programme, and as a first step towards that goal a new catalogue is already in preparation.
