National Maritime Museum, Greenwich. 30th January to 20th March 2002, Wednesdays 10.30 - 12.30 The naval battles between France and Great Britain at the end of the 18th Century laid the foundations of Britain’s domination of the seas for the next 150 years. This eight-week course will explore the significance of Seapower during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. Subjects include life on board the Victory, amphibious operations, the lasting effect of Nelson on the navy today and frigate warfare.
