Colonial Williamsburg, Sept. 12 - 14, 1997 The largest collection of Napoleonic artefacts ever assembled for sale in the U.S. will be open to the public in September, 1997 in Colonial Williamsburg, VA. It will be located in the Williamsburg Hospitality House at the 13th Annual Conference of the Napoleonic Society on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 12, 13 and 14th, according to Bob Snibbe, President. Thirty or more dealers from the U.S., Canada, England and France will display books, prints, autographs, miniature soldiers, guns, swords, porcelains, bronzes, and other artefacts relating to Napoleon and the Empire period. In addition to the items for sale by dealers, there will be the 4th Annual International Napoleonic Auction on Sunday, Sept. 14th. Over 200 lots of Napoleonic memorabilia from private collectors all over the world will be auctioned. The Conference will include talks by nine Napoleonic experts on Saturday and that evening at the Annual Banquet one of the world's foremost Napoleonic historians will be the speaker. On Sunday there will be a typical Revolutionary Army breakfast on the Battlefield of Yorktown and a demonstration by re-enactors of the loading and firing of muskets. Following the breakfast there will be a guided tour of the Battlefield. The auction will start at 2pm, followed by a Farewell Cocktail Reception.
