March 1671 From France news of the levy of a regiment of 40 companies of 50 men each to be commanded by the Count of Lude Grande Maitre of the Artillery of France (it is soon increased to 3000 men to serve as guard to the Train of Artillery).

25/3/1671 They are levying in Paris with a great haste a Regiment of 1000 Dragoons, that will have to follow each day in the Low Countries His Majesty, dressed all with cloaks and coats of a blue cloth, lined in red...
