Two trains for Samarkand
Two linked games played on the same table, using “Setting the East Ablaze” and 28mm figures. This scenario may be found in the first supplement of these fantastic rules.
We are at the Samarkand train station, along the Transcaspian line. Revolutionaries and Counter Revolutionaries fight for the control of this important node.
Bokhara is not far away, its cruel Khan has so far resisted all Bolsheviks attacks. Whites are still active in this area, they have managed some ex-Bolsheviks troops to change side, use a train in a swift attack and conquer the railway station.
The railway station is defended by few troops, some armed railway workers, one field gun section and a an antiaircraft gun mounted on a vehicle. Commissar Tutzek is currently using the single toilette existing in the region. He cannot move. The counter-revolutionary train is approaching with red flags waving, nobody knows they are traitors. A bird’s eye view of the Samarkand station. The railway workers hols the station. Suddenly the station is filled with armed soldiers. They quickly seize a damaged building. A heavy machine gun fires from the train and silence the AA gun. The Commissar manages to escape by running towards the AA gun, he tries to arm the gun and fire. The mutineers have captured one of the main buildings, what is left of them from previous fights. The railways workers fire at the train, they defend the main building. The white flag is now raised from the train. No quarter is given on both sides. Also what appeared as a civil car mounted on a rail car from a distance, reveals itself as being an armoured car! With a lucky shot from the armoured car, Commissar Tutzek is killed.
The railway workers lay down their arms, the Smartkand train station is conquered, the battle is over! The players are resting after the first battle..
