Civil War Naval Gaming

by Jim Zylka

Scenario 1

June 17, 1863. The Confederate ironclad Atlanta attempts to break the blockade of Savannah and encounters the Union monitors Weehawken and Nanhant in the Wassaw Sound. As the aggressor, the Atlanta must either sink one of the monitors and survive the battle herself, or drive both of the two monitors (or sink them both) off the playing surface for a major victory by turn ten. The Federal player wins if The Atlanta is sunk or surrenders. All other results end the game in a draw. No boarding is allowed. Note Atlanta's draft and the delta of the shallows. She may run aground!
