Review by Curt Campbell
For those who enjoy variation in their units, the 25mm Zouaves from REDOUBT will provide great tonic. These castings come in three parts - head, torso and legs allowing changes in pose for each model. The figures are dressed in fez, or turban, with the appropriate baggy trousers and gaiters. I particularly liked the officers and the right-shoulder-shift figures as they all seem to be advancing in a dynamic fashion. The qulity of the castings are very good with virtually no cleaning needed, but the necks of the heads will have to be carefully cut to look in porportion. Also, I recommend a good gap-filling glue or epoxy to fill in the gaps at the waistline (something we wargamers usually could do without!). Though some believe that casualty figures are too grisly, breaking the pagentry of the rank and file, I argue that they are useful to many games mechanics, while adding a touch a realism which often warrants a reflective pause. To those interested, these 25mm castings are as good as they come with a wide assortment of appropriate "morte de guerre" heads available (for all you 'Deadheads'). More Reviews
