This is the second installment of buildings that take place in the town of Daggerford . In this article I introduce details of the Stables and of Kryptgarden Scrolls. Round One: Tenement and Bar Buildings In this article I wished to provide something that could be placed into any town that the DM wishes. Both of these buildings can easily be placed into many unusual scenarios. Many times while I play some piece of magic is given out freely. The DM simply says that we find a ring of fire resistance, or a long sword +2. Very rarely does the character need to investigate these strange and unusual properties tht a magic item has. With the introduction of Kryptgarden Scrolls the players can have access to some means of investigating these items. Perhaps that simple long sword was made by a fallen elven clan that was wiped out hundreds of years ago. The last survivor of that clan might have survived and is looking for some part of his heritage. This elf may prove to be a friend or a foe, determining on how the PC's act. Sometimes a magic item may prove to have some extra power that the characters do not know about. The long sword may have the ability to shoot magic missles or lightning bolts. How are the characters to know this unique fact unless they research the topic or something happens during the adventure. The stables are an important part to any adventure. Not very often does the horse receive an arrow while the rider is charging into ambush. The faithfu1 mounts take almost as much abuse that their riders do in the real world. The stables can be used to introduce plots to the party when they stop by. Someone might be in the market for a horse that has a certain trait, or be searching for a horse that the evil wizard rode off on two days prior. Whatever the reason that the PC's are in town, the DM should have some places that provide some interesting stories. Whether or not anything that the players discover in these building are part of the story line that the characters are pursuing at the time is totally up to you. The players might find some piece of information that leads them into another path that you did not foresee. Let the players go with it and have fun spending four hours in the shop that you thought would take two minutes. Isn't that what playing is all about anyway.
