This small stone building is the town's only library. Inside its three floors are said to house over twenty-thousand books and scrolls. The guild scribes spend their days looking up documents for sages and adventurers, and their nights copying and organizing everything in their care. Nonguildsmen are only allowed into the foyer where they can conduct any business that is needed. There is a magical ward cast on the whole building making it, and everything in it, immune to fire and lightning of both magical and mundane nature. It is for this reason that the whole place is lit by continual light stones placed in candle holders. The resident sage is a former 5th level wizard named Fifernost. This short middle-aged human has bright green eyes and a neatly trimmed mustache to complement his gray hair. His special areas of study are Botany and Metallurgy. Fifernost is good friends with Derval the smith and Fulbar Hardcheese of The Happy Cow Tavern. The building itself is made from stone. The cellar has a lead-lined room to prevent scrying. It also has a ward on it protecting from people teleporting into or out of this room. There is nobody that lives in this building, however it is well guarded by three Helmed-Horrors located on the first floor.
