Adventure games leader Wizards of the Coast Inc., has announced today the international release of the Magic: The Gathering Portal Three Kingdoms card set. Based on the celebrated 17th century Chinese epic Romance of the Three Kingdoms. These self starter level cards feature people, battles and quotes from turbulent third century China. Scheduled to debut in Japan the card set introduces new players to the globally renowned game play and strategy of the world's best selling Magic: The Gathering card game. The first Magic product based on a historic Chinese story, the Portal Three Kingdoms card set features 180 cards with unique illustrations by notable Chinese, Japanese and Korean artists. The 60 card game includes everything needed for two players and comes with easy, step-by-step instructions. that guide players through a typical Magic game. Players will also enjoy three different 40 card pre-constructed desk the represent the warring Wei, Shu and Wu Chinese kingdoms. These theme decks help players learn the basic strategies and principles of game play and deck building. Portal Three Kingdoms cards are also available in 10 card random booster packs. The Portal Three Kingdoms card set is completely compatible with all other Magic releases and has just three card types: lands, creatures and sorceries. Published in simplified Chinese, traditional Chinese, English and Japanese, the game will be distributed internationally through hobby, game, book and department stores. A Portal Three Kingdoms players' league will also be help in a variety of locations in the Asia Pacific region starting this summer. More News
