Great Hall of Steam From figureheads mounted on the wall to a cornucopia of ship models, this hall didn't prove as exciting as I first thought--unless you like to see many ship models of large ocean liners. Some of the models have "working" engines, in that the parts move when you push a button, though there's no fire or steam at work.
You can talk to the official ship model maker, who has a small stand at the back where he makes models under the public eye. As we walked around, he closed up shop for lunch, which is a shame, for he had numerous models built and placed on the shelves. However, I overheard him bitching about the thieving hands of schoolchildren, so he had to lock up everything just to go to the bathroom, much less for lunch. More of the Mariners' Museum
