1705 Spanish expedition vs Navajo + Jemez refugees
1708 Jan Navajo (200) vs Spanish Pursuit force (30 Spanish + 60 Pueblo). Major Skirmish
1709 6 major Spanish expeditions into Navajo territory
1709 Jun Navajo warband sacks Jemez and attacks Presidio and El Paso
1709 Aug Spanish force (100 soldiers + 300 Pueblo) vs Navajo. Major battle.
1713 Oct Spanish force (20 Sp Vol + 50 Pueblo) vs Navajo (150) Navajo repulsed Spanish
1714 Mar Spanish force (40 soldiers + 20 Militia + 200 Pueblos) vs Navajo. Several Skirmishes
1716 Oct Battle of Los Penolitos. Spanish (30 Soldiers + 20 Militia + 350 Pueblos vs Navajo
1720-70 Fifty year period of relative Peace. Isolated Navajo ambushes and Spanish intrusions still occurred. Navajo suffering from heavy Ute and Comanche attacks
1760 Spanish began to identify Navajo into Christian and Pagan factions.
1770 Renewed fighting Navajo vs Hopi + Spanish
1774 Albuquerque militia vs Navajo raiding parities
1774 Oct Navajo attack Laguna Pueblo
1774 Nov Navajo raid Zia Pueblo
1775 Mar 30 Battle of Big Bead Mesa (NM) Spanish (80 Mtd Lancers + 40 militia + 100 Pueblo) vs Navajo (300-500). Spanish repulsed
1776 Navajo + Yavapais vs Havasupais
1776 Navajo + Yavapais vs Moquis/Hopi
1780 Jul Navajo launch major raids against Zuni, Acoma Pueblo and Pecos Pueblo
1783 Navajo vs Keras Pueblos
1783 Navajo + Gila Apache vs Spanish settlements along the Rio Grande River
1784 Navajo + Gila Apache vs Spanish settlements in the Rio Abajo area
1785-1804 Spanish threaten to support Comanche and Utes vs Navajo, if Navajo refused to break their alliance with Gila Apache. Most Navajo supported Spain during this era.
1785-1804 Navajo- Gila Apache War
1785 2 major raids conducted by Navajo into Gila Apache territory
1785 Jun 2 major battles between Gila Apache (200) and Spanish force (80 Mtd troops + 20 foot troops or militia + 94 Pueblo + 46 Navajo
1786 Joint Spanish- Navajo recon of Gila land in Socorro. The force consisted of 37 soldiers + 19 militia + 60 Pueblo + 22 Comanche + 26 Navaho
1787 Spanish + Navajo vs Gila Apache
1787 Navajo vs Gila Apache
1788 Gila Apache vs Spanish + Navaho + Pueblo + Comanche
1793 Gila Apache raiders hit Acoma and pursued by a joint force of Navajo + Pueblos
1793 Oct Battle of San Mateo Mtns. Gila Apache defeat a Navajo force and kill a major Navajo chief. Navajo revenge raids which follow include Ute + Jemez.
1797 Navaho + Zuni war party ambushed by Gila Apache
